What is the difference between illuminance distribution and brightness distribution?

Illuminance distribution: A "map" of the intensity of light falling on a floor or wall.

Illuminance describes the amount of light falling on a surface.

It is usually measured on a plane at a certain distance from the light fixture. There are two ways to express this:

Marking values at grid points (similar to a coordinate luminance chart) or drawing iso-illuminance lines (similar to contour lines on a weather map).

If you want to convert the value to another plane parallel to the original plane, you can also use mathematical conversion factors.

Thus, the illuminance distribution is more like a "map of the light field generated by a light source."
